Key Responsibilities

• Direct the operation of the department, including planning, annual budget preparation, and monitoring, projecting reputed company resource and customer needs, hiring, motivating, promoting, developing, and performance management of staff.
• Provide claims handling expertise to new product development and account creation and reputed company, in partnership with reputed company, new product development and management.
• Build and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and underwriters.

• Provide technical consultation/direction to reputed company claim professionals and function as a content specialist to help reputed company training curricula.

• Review claim quality results to identify coverage trends and ensure consistency in policy interpretation.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Ten years of claims experience, including five years in claims management.
• Multi-line experience with exposure to the general agency system.
• Knowledge of the general agency system, state insurance department regulation, unfair claim handling regulations, and a good understanding of tort law.
• Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills necessary for customer contact, negotiation, presentations, project management, personnel management, technical, and non-technical contacts.
• Leadership and management skills, with the ability to reputed company, coach, train, and mentor individual team members.
• Undergraduate degree preferred, with completion of general insurance courses, such as IIA, AEI, and/or CPCU preferred.
