Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Medical Transcription Quality Assurance Specialist to review and edit transcribed medical documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. As a key member of reputed company, you'll provide feedback to transcriptionists, support reputed company improvement, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that drive quality documentation. Key Responsibilities:

• Daily review of transcribed reports for completeness, correctness, and consistency, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Correct or fill in any blanks as necessary, ensuring that reports are thorough and accurate.
• Push reports to Scanning for indexing to patient's EMR, facilitating seamless integration with electronic medical records.
• Periodic review of provider's transcribed reports against actual dictation, applying industry-specific standards and guidelines.
• Randomly select transcribed or edited reports for review, providing timely and consistent feedback to the reputed company and/or manager.
• Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical dictation, and take corrective action as required.
• Direct efforts toward quality documentation, including providing input regarding procedures, training, and resources for team members.
• Establish policies and procedures that contribute to the efficiency of the transcription department, driving reputed company improvement and excellence.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A high school diploma or GED, with a strong foundation in medical terminology and transcription principles.
• Medical transcription certification preferred, but not required; medical transcription education or qualifying degree/experience also preferred.
• At least one year of previous experience as a transcriptionist in the medical field, with orthopedic experience an asset.
• Proficiency in reputed company Word and reputed company, with advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease process, signs and systems, medications, and laboratory values.
• In-depth knowledge of medical transcription guidelines (The AAMT Book of Style for Medical Transcription) and practices.

• Excellent acoustical skills, with the ability to understand diverse accents, dialects, and varying dictation styles.
• Proficient in referencing, researching, reporting, tracking, and monitoring, with strong organizational and mathematical skills.
