Position Overview: Verbatim Court Reporter Transcriptionist

We are seeking a highly skilled Verbatim Court Reporter Transcriptionist to transcribe court proceedings, trials, and depositions from audio recordings with precision and accuracy. Key Responsibilities

• Audio Transcription: Transcribe court proceedings, trials, and depositions from audio recordings with a high degree of accuracy, maintaining a strict verbatim format and identifying speakers correctly.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of transcripts with court formatting rules, utilizing knowledge of QA processes to maintain high transcription standards.
• Colloquy Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of legal terminologies, colloquy, and court-specific language to produce high-quality transcripts.
• Time Management: Manage your workload to meet moderately paced turnaround times, typically allowing 1 day per 1 hour of assigned audio, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines consistently.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Verbatim Transcription Experience: Proven experience in transcribing court proceedings, trials, and depositions with adherence to court formatting rules. Experience with large jury trials is highly desirable.
• AAERT Certification: AAERT certified applicants will receive premier consideration for this position, highlighting our commitment to excellence in transcription.
• Q&A and Colloquy Knowledge: The ability to distinguish and format Q&A and colloquy correctly is essential.
