Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative - Water Billing Specialist at blithequark, you will be the face of our organization, providing top-notch customer service to our valued customers. You will respond to routine telephone inquiries, resolve billing and account-reputed company issues, and maintain accurate records in our data system. If you're a team player with excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and a knack for problem-solving, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

* Respond to routine telephone inquiries from the public and other city departments regarding water billing, service connections, disconnections, transfers, extensions of payment, sewer/water averaging, and general information.

• Enter change of service information into our data system and verify customer details.
• Maintain accurate records of customer contacts, non-payment accounts, and change of address information.
• Operate a two-way radio to communicate with colleagues and receive messages.
• Utilize basic office equipment, such as printers, scanners, and calculators.
• Post numerical records and maintain accurate filing systems.
• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve customer issues and provide exceptional service.

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of at least one course in general office practices or equivalent work experience.

• 35 WPM typing test required (testing will be scheduled at City Hall, reputed company Resources, 72 W. College Ave, 2nd floor, Suite #201).
• Ability to maintain customer confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
• Familiarity with office machines and operation techniques.
• Basic arithmetic skills and ability to read, understand, and interpret city policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous customer service experience in a water billing or utility setting.

• Knowledge of water billing software and systems.
• Ability to lift books, files, or other materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Valid operator's license with a good driving record.
