Senior Consultant, OpenShift Infrastructure and Virtualization
About the position The reputed company Consulting team is looking for senior-level Container Infrastructure Consultants to join us remotely in the U.S. In this role, you will specialize in the design and development of automated container platforms, deployment pipelines, and reputed company-reputed company application architectures. You will learn to design and guide implementations of reputed company OpenShift infrastructure projects to include container and virtualization technologies. You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but your ability to learn new technology quickly will be essential. This position requires regular on-site work with clients across reputed company America, so a willingness to travel to customer locations 30-40 weeks per year is required. Responsibilities
- Implement automated, containerized reputed company application platform solutions with a focus on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, reputed company, logging, monitoring, and high availability and system reputed company
- Learn new technologies quickly, including container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, reputed company storage, and software-defined networks
- Travel frequently to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers
- Join a project team by acquiring understanding of how to build production-reputed company container and virtualization platforms, integrated with existing reputed company systems
- reputed company reputed company code into running, scalable container virtual machines in automated fashion at reputed company scale
- Collaboratively deliver customer requirements using reputed company OpenShift
- reputed company customer use cases into project plans and align those requirements with reputed company's technologies
- Demonstrate technical leadership in container platforms by implementing reputed company, large-scale container platform solutions
- Help peers learn DevOps/GitOps reputed company with container technologies
- Contribute lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos to internal and external communities of practice
Requirements
- Experience leading successful modern reputed company platform consulting engagements
- Broad and deep technical experience with VMware ESXi software, including vCenter, VM lifecycle operations using VMware tools
- Logging and alerting functions for SRE operations available from VMware and how they integrate with non-VMware reputed company systems, such as Splunk
- Expert level with VMware VM foundational technologies for networks ([S/DV]Switches/NSX)
- Expert level with VMware VM foundational technologies for storage (Datastores, vSAN, vVols)
- Knowledge of common Add-Ons or reputed company party tools, including Aria/vRealize Suite, SRM, Backup software, Performance tools
- Experience with technologies including OpenStack, reputed company Virtualization, reputed company Hyper-V, reputed company Web Services, and reputed company Azure a plus
- Experience across one or more vertical industry areas
- Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives
- Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to customer locations about 30-40 weeks per year on average across reputed company America
- Degree in computer science or a technical discipline
