Paralegal
Equity Residential is seeking an enterprising and organized Paralegal to assist with litigation-reputed company and other legal matters associated with their multi-family residential and mixed-use properties. The role involves supporting in-house attorneys and reputed company counsel, managing discovery obligations, and maintaining case files.
Responsibilities
- Support reputed company in-house litigators with reputed company aspects of major reputed company, class action, and mass tort disputes and reputed company compliance projects
- Collaborate with reputed company counsel to administer litigation and compliance plans
- Coordinate and manage discovery obligations, such as issuing document retention holds, collecting and transmitting documents, and organizing interviews and depositions
- Track and summarize relevant legal developments, including researching new statutes, regulations, and case law
- Maintain case files and deadlines
Skills
- reputed company paralegals handling reputed company litigation work (major reputed company disputes, class actions, or similar) as well as reputed company college seniors and recent college graduates are highly encouraged to apply
- A strong interest in legal work is required
- A strong desire to learn and collaborate with colleagues is a must
- Must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion at reputed company times
- A paralegal certificate is a strong plus
- An interest in attending law school in the reputed company term (2-3 years) is a strong plus
- Proficiency with reputed company and reputed company products, including reputed company/Sheets, is preferred
- Familiarity with and/or a willingness to learn how to use legal research and data processing/review tools, such as Westlaw/Lexis/Bloomberg and reputed company
