ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/SCIENTIST/GEOLOGIST (ENTRY LEVEL)

Tetra Tech is a leader in water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure, providing high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide. They are seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Geologist to support multidisciplinary project teams in conducting environmental assessments and response actions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform property research, site reconnaissance, field observations, soil borings, sample collection, and elevation surveying. Prepare boring logs, evaluate and tabulate analytical data, perform environmental calculations, and assist in drafting Phase I and Phase II ESA reports and MCP submittals
  • Collect groundwater, soil, soil gas, and drinking water samples—including private well samples for PFAS and other emerging contaminants—following established protocols to ensure data quality and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor and document the work of excavation, drilling, and monitoring well installation contractors, as well as subcontractors performing asbestos abatement, demolition, or remediation tasks. Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications
  • Organize field and analytical data, maintain accurate records, assist with project scheduling, prepare technical reports, and support document control activities
  • Complete field tasks with minimal supervision, including outdoor work in various weather conditions and on active job sites, while adhering to health and safety requirements
  • Effectively prioritize and balance work across several concurrent projects with varying scopes, timelines, and technical requirements
  • Conduct work in accordance with company procedures, applicable legislation, and industry standards. Ensure deliverables meet internal quality control requirements and client expectations
  • Pursue continuous professional development, staying current with evolving professional practices, design tools, codes, and sustainability trends. Maintain active involvement in professional organizations and training programs as appropriate
  • Adhere to and promote company health and safety policies. Work in a safe manner at all times and promptly report any safety incidents or concerns
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support project success and team objectives

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, or geology
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Confident, independent thinking paired with attention to protocol
  • Ability to meet quality standards and deadlines
  • Active and clear driver's license, including a successful clearance of a Motor Vehicle history check
  • HAZWOPER certification
  • AutoCAD/ArcGIS training
