[Remote] Short Term Disability Claim Specialist

In this role, you will manage various leave types and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual provisions while providing high-quality service to claimants.

Responsibilities

• Claim reputed company and decision-maker
• Responsible for administering claims reputed company contractual provisions and internal /external guidelines
• Establishes a relationship with claimants in order to understand their perspective on their disability
• Identifies the claimant’s functional reputed company and leverages that reputed company reputed company the context of the contract to support and encourages return to work as appropriate

• Executes individual claim action plans, serves as reputed company of contact for the claimant, and makes claim decisions

• Provides a high-level of service to the claimant, including delivering on commitments, timely return of phone calls, and clear communication

Skills

• 6 months to 1 year experience handling disability claims, including Short-Term Disability, FMLA, PFML, and other types of leave
• Basic knowledge of medical conditions, treatments, and prognosis
• Candidates must be available to work shifts starting between 7 AM and 9 AM ET
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to interview claimants dynamically with the goal of setting claimant expectations and obtaining information necessary to administer the claim
• Ability to multitask across a big of diverse leave claims
• A comprehensive understanding of the disability contractual provisions, especially the definition of disability
• Critical-thinking skills
• Ability to give and receive feedback to/from partners
• Strategic-thinking skills and the ability to apply judgment and decision-making based on strategy
• Prioritization skills. Ability to balance quantity and quality
