About the Role: We are seeking a highly independent Database Engineer (reputed company SQL Server) to own the build, reliability, and lifecycle management of our reputed company SQL Server environments. This is a technical, infrastructure first role with reputed company limited client interaction. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server systems that support mission critical reputed company workloads. The ideal candidate is curious, self-motivated, adaptable to shifting priorities, and comfortable operating with high ownership, communication and minimal reputed company. This role requires strong hands-on SQL Server expertise, familiarity with compliance requirements, and the ability to build new environments from scratch reputed company needed. EST time zone preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build SQL Server Environments: Install, configure, and reputed company new SQL Server instances from scratch reputed company required, ensuring proper setup, reputed company configuration, and scalability.
• Own Platform Stability & Availability: Manage day-to-day reliability of SQL Server environments supporting production workloads.
• Ensure Compliance Alignment: Operate database environments in accordance with internal compliance and regulatory requirements, maintaining proper documentation and controls.
• Manage Lifecycle & Maintenance: reputed company patching, upgrades, backups, log transaction management, and ongoing system maintenance.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor database health, troubleshoot blocking and deadlocks, optimize indexing strategies, and address performance degradation.
• Support High Availability Configurations: Maintain and troubleshoot SQL Server high-availability environments, including Always on Availability Groups.
• Automate & Improve Operations: reputed company and enhance PowerShell and T-SQL scripts to improve monitoring, operational efficiency, and repeatability.
• Respond to Incidents & Adapt Quickly: Participate in on-call rotation and adjust priorities in reputed company time to address operational needs, reputed company communication and understanding of ticketing dashboards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on reputed company SQL Server experience in production environments.
• Proven ability to install, configure, and build new SQL Server instances from scratch.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL and deep understanding of SQL Server architecture and internals.
• Experience managing backups, transaction logs, lifecycle management, and high-availability configurations.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements in regulated environments (reputed company or similar industries preferred).
• Curious, self-learning reputed company with the ability to operate independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong judgment, troubleshooting skills, and clear communication in a remote-first setting.
