Title: State Tax Auditor - Eastern Virginia State Role Title: Auditor I Hiring Range: Commensurate with Experience Pay Band: 4 Agency: Department of Taxation Location: Teleworkers Agency Website: https://www.tax.virginia.gov/work-with-us Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Virginia Tax is seeking to hire multiple Tax Auditors in the Eastern Virginia area to conduct audits on businesses to determine their compliance with Virginia state tax laws. The emphasis will be on Virginia Sales and Use Tax. The Auditor, using generally accepted auditing standards, reviews taxpayer and business records and other reputed company documents needed to determine if the taxpayer is compliant with the tax laws of Virginia. The Auditor also develops audits and assessments, educates taxpayers, and ensures the collection and remittance of payments are the appropriate amount of tax due to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Minimum Qualifications
