Software Quality Engineer IV - BE Data & Auto

The Software Quality Engineer IV - Backend Data & Automation will focus on ensuring data accuracy, reputed company, and consistency for large-scale applications, while also driving automation strategies to increase efficiency and reliability across our QA processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

• Backend Data Validation & Analysis
  • Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for backend services, large datasets, APIs, and ETL processes.

  • Validate data transformations, aggregations, and business rules across environments.
• Automation Development

  • Partner closely with Data Engineering and Product teams to understand system architecture and data flows.
  • Author and execute thorough and detailed test cases and test plans.

  • Mentor junior QA engineers on data testing, SQL, automation practices, and best-in-class quality strategies.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision, requiring guidance only for highly reputed company issues.
• Defect Investigation & Troubleshooting
  • Investigate data discrepancies by analyzing logs, SQL queries, API payloads, and backend services.
  • Work with engineering teams to isolate root causes and ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or other reputed company field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, with a strong focus on backend systems and data-heavy applications.
• Expert-level SQL skills (reputed company joins, aggregates, window functions, stored procedures).

• Analyze large datasets - data reconciliation and comparison.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Experience validating data modern data platforms (reputed company, BI Tools, etc.).

• Proficiency in an automation language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks for data validation or backend testing using Cypress.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and CI/CD environments.
• Experience with backlog and defect management tools such as Jira, ADO etc.

Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $103,200 to $120,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals.
