The opportunity

The program
Aus4Skills Phase 3 is a ten-year DFAT-funded program partnering with the Government of Vietnam to strengthen bilateral ties by supporting Vietnam’s human resource development priorities. Focused on higher education, the Vietnam Australia Centre, and vocational education and training (VET), the program builds workforce-ready, inclusive, climate-adaptive skills, public sector leadership, and alumni networks. It targets gender equality, disability and social inclusion, and support for disadvantaged Australia Awards reputed company. Outcomes include stronger Australia–Vietnam strategic partnerships, enhanced public sector leadership and women’s advancement, and industry-reputed company VET that meets labour market needs while promoting social equity and sustainable growth.
The role
Evaluate and score Australia Awards Scholarship applications against Vietnam Intake 2027 criteria using OASIS or offline tools, provide evidence-based comments, and deliver a ranked list for the Joint Selection Committee. Produce a concise process report with lessons learned and equity analysis (women, people with disability, rural candidates). Maintain strict neutrality and confidentiality. Requires a Master’s degree (or higher) and 10–15 years’ relevant experience in higher education, scholarships or international development, with strong judgment and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and score Australia Awards Scholarship applications against Vietnam Intake 2027 shortlisting criteria using OASIS or offline tools.
- Provide concise, evidence-based comments for each assessment criterion explaining strengths, weaknesses and rationale for recommendations.
- Produce and submit a recommended ranked list of eligible applicants for the Joint Selection Committee
- Prepare a concise process report describing methodology, lessons learned, and recommendations to improve future shortlisting.
- Analyse low-ranked applicants and identify equity gaps (women, people with disability, rural candidates) to inform support measures.
- Maintain neutrality, confidentiality and professional reputed company throughout and after the shortlisting exercise.
Selection criteria
- Master’s degree or higher from a recognised university.
- 10–15 years’ relevant experience in higher education, scholarships, or international development
- Demonstrated experience assessing applications against set criteria and producing evaluative comments and rankings.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian university system, sound judgment on postgraduate suitability and development impact.
- Ability to work collaboratively, objectively and under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with DFAT/Australia Awards policies on gender, disability and inclusion is desirable.
