[Remote] Post-Conviction Relief Attorney
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Unitedfirm is a premier law firm looking for a dedicated Associate Attorney for a Post-Conviction Relief Attorney position. This role involves managing post-conviction relief cases and collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
Responsibilities
- Advise the client on their legal rights in matters and draw up legal documents about their case
- Responsible for post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation, etc
- Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required, as this position would have interactions with both criminal and immigration practices
- Attend reputed company hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about the best strategies
- Handle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing on behalf of other criminal attorneys reputed company the firm
- Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients, and performing legal research
- Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
- Manage the workload of cases
- Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits
Skills
- Admitted attorney
- Previous litigation and/or appellate experience
- Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience
- Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level
- A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with your fellow associates
- Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred, but not required
- Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required
