Experienced Member Services Representative – Payments and Digital Strategy Team

Job Summary

As an Experienced Member Services Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our members, resolving issues, and processing transactions efficiently. You will work closely with our Payments and Digital Strategy team to ensure seamless execution of our digital services, including check processing, direct deposits, and budget transfers. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities

* Complete data access and balancing tasks to ensure accurate financial records

  • Coordinate return items with vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
  • Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Work member cases/assignments to resolve issues and provide exceptional customer service
  • Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with NACHA regulations and federal banking laws
  • Process mortgage payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other transactions, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff transactions
  • Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Log, review, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
  • Process Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Complete daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtain information from members for timely and accurate processing of international and domestic budget switch requests
  • Research and verify incoming and outgoing budget switch information
  • Communicate with vendors to process budget transfers
  • Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming budget switch regulations
  • Deposit check returns, review member returned checks on draft changes, process member checks, verify members for outgoing budget transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing budget transfers
  • Complete daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, international collections, and legal fees

Essential Qualifications

* High school degree or GED

  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience
  • Ability to work prolonged hours in support of business needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and review data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high volume pressure
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department
  • Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous customer/member service experience

  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
