Role Description The Pharmacy Technician Lead is responsible for running and compiling multiple daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the medication therapy management (MTM) pharmacy team under the supervision of the Pharmacist Lead, as well as for completing pharmacy technician responsibilities, including:

  • Calling and engaging ExactCare Pharmacy patients to complete a comprehensive medication review.
  • Helping patients refill their medication(s).
  • Answering inbound phone calls.
  • Documenting pharmacy services.
  • Following up on the pharmacist’s prescriber recommendation depending on organizational needs.

The Pharmacy Technician Lead completes the work remotely with a focus on non-clinical reporting as well as phone-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED.
  • Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA).
  • Must maintain a pharmacy technician registration with State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Prior experience in a phone-based pharmacy setting.
  • Experience in a patient care environment.
  • Prior Managed Care or MTM experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a phone-based environment.
  • Adaptability to evolving organizational changes and growing healthcare sector.
  • Exceptional customer service skills: servicing doctor’s office, pharmacist, and patient needs over the phone.
  • Drug knowledge appropriate for a pharmacy technician.
  • Pharmacy billing knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Compiling, organizing, and merging large data sets, utilizing formulas and Pivot Tables to summarize data.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Passion to help people and enrich their lives.
  • Ability to overcome objections.
  • Ability to think critically and document pertinent details in a world-class manner that is compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience working in a team.
  • Ability to present a warm, friendly, and empathetic atmosphere for patients by using active listening techniques.

Requirements

  • This position is administrative in nature and will present physical demands requisite to a position requiring: hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, and walking.
  • Must be able to commute to multiple site locations within assigned territory.
  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.

Schedule

  • This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week.
  • Be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

Travel

  • Travel may be required for special organization or department events, department team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other client engagements.
