Systems Analyst
Wellington Management is one of the world’s largest independent investment management firms, serving institutional clients globally. The Systems Analyst will act as a Business Analyst within the Performance & Benchmark team, focusing on gathering and documenting requirements to support technology and data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for performance and benchmark technology initiatives
- Translate business and operational needs into clear, structured requirements, including features, background, and acceptance criteria
- Work closely with engineering teams throughout design and delivery to ensure requirements are well understood and solutions align with intended business outcomes
- Support solution design by helping identify data flows, dependencies, controls, and edge cases across upstream sources and downstream consumers
- Partner with QA and operations teams to support testing, validation, and reconciliation of system outputs against business and operational expectations
- Assist with analysis and triage of defects, data issues, or production incidents related to performance, benchmark, or analytics platforms
- Ensure documentation is maintained and kept current, including requirements, assumptions, data definitions, and process flows
- Contribute to ongoing modernization efforts by helping evolve requirement practices to support automated, scalable, and AI enabled solutions
- Collaborate effectively across teams and geographies, balancing multiple initiatives in a fast paced, business critical environment
Skills
- 1-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting technology driven solutions
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements for data intensive platforms
- Experience working directly with engineering and QA teams across design, development, testing, and delivery
- Ability to translate complex business and operational needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with business, operations, and technology stakeholders
- Self‑motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, evolving technical environment
- Bachelor's degree required
- Exposure to investment data domains such as performance measurement, benchmarks, attribution, analytics, holdings, or transactions
- Experience validating or reconciling system outputs (e.g., calculations, reports, or data feeds) against business expectations
- Experience with scripting or programming languages and tools such as Python, SQL. etc
- Familiarity with modern delivery and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Interest in, or exposure to, automation with AI assisted workflows
