[Remote] Research Administrator I

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The University of Florida is seeking a Research Administrator I to join the College of Public Health and Health Professions. This role focuses on pre-award development, assisting faculty in submitting research proposals, and managing the proposal submission process to ensure compliance with various policies.

Responsibilities

  • Learn all facets of research administration
  • Assist faculty in submitting research proposals for national and international competitions
  • Work with a department and their assigned research administration team
  • Review the request for application (RFA) for administrative requirements
  • Draft checklists to help faculty know what needs to be provided
  • Identify places where the research administrator(s) can support the proposal submission
  • Develop an accurate budget compliant with various policies
  • Ensure all administrative requirements of the sponsor’s RFA are met
  • Manage the research proposal submission process to ensure compliance with sponsor, state and university policy
  • Assist faculty with management and submission of additional documents and budget revisions requested by sponsors
  • Set up the project file in UFirst and assist with budget adjustments upon receipt of a new award
  • Provide administrative support for post-award research administration
  • Train and manage a post-award portfolio with emphasis on customer support
  • Review award documents for reconciliation and ensure proper document retention
  • Learn high-level review of financial processes at the University of Florida

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to track, maintain and manipulate data
  • Outstanding customer service capabilities
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Ability to function under pressure and within tight scheduled deadlines
