Mechanical Engineering Specialist

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Specialist with strong expertise in static equipment integrity and procedure/manual development for a short-term engagement. This resource will support the development of a site-specific mechanical integrity and quality control manual, ensuring alignment between corporate standards and Louisiana/US regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a site-specific mechanical integrity / quality control manual for static equipment
  • Review and align existing corporate standards with Louisiana and US regulatory codes
  • Author and standardize mechanical integrity procedures and documentation
  • Conduct assessments/gap analysis of current processes vs. regulatory requirements
  • Provide recommendations to ensure compliance, safety, and operational consistency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to validate procedures and ensure practical applicability
  • Support on-site alignment, walkdowns, or oversight activities as required
  • Ensure documentation is consistent with industry best practices for asset integrity management

Primary Deliverable: Completed mechanical integrity / quality control manual tailored to the site Focus Areas: Static equipment including:

  • Storage tanks
  • Heat exchangers
  • Piping systems
  • Pressure vessels
  • Relief systems / safety devices

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience writing mechanical integrity procedures/manuals
  • Strong knowledge of static equipment integrity programs
  • Familiarity with US codes and regulations, specifically in Louisiana where possible (e.g., API, ASME, OSHA, EPA frameworks)
  • Experience working within regulated industrial environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and deliver documentation in an unstructured/undefined scope

Nice-to-Have:

  • Prior experience supporting site-specific compliance programs in Louisiana
  • Experience performing gap assessments or audits against regulatory codes
  • Background in asset integrity, inspection, or reliability engineering
