Senior Philanthropy Officer - Remote

Our client, a respected non-profit organization dedicated to making a significant societal impact, is seeking a seasoned Senior Philanthropy Officer to join their fully remote development team. This critical role will focus on cultivating and managing relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure substantial financial support for the organization's mission. You will leverage your exceptional fundraising skills, strategic thinking, and passion for the cause to drive philanthropic growth and ensure the long-term sustainability of our programs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects and current donors. Manage a personal portfolio of high-capacity donors, building strong, long-term relationships based on trust and mutual understanding. Plan and execute successful fundraising campaigns and initiatives, setting ambitious yet achievable goals. Prepare compelling proposals, grant applications, and donor reports that effectively communicate the organization's impact and funding needs. Collaborate with program staff, board members, and volunteers to identify funding opportunities and engage stakeholders in fundraising efforts. Represent the organization at cultivation and stewardship events, conferences, and meetings. Conduct prospect research and utilize donor databases to identify new giving opportunities and segment donor audiences. Monitor and analyze fundraising progress, providing regular reports to leadership on key metrics and trends. Ensure compliance with all ethical fundraising standards and organizational policies. Contribute to the overall strategic planning and development of the philanthropy department. Mentor and support junior development staff, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative team environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree or CFRE certification is a plus. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or a related role within the non-profit sector, with a demonstrated track record of success in securing major gifts. Proven ability to cultivate and manage relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate giving programs. Strong understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and compelling appeals. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and trust. Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities. Proficiency with donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce for Nonprofits) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment. Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to philanthropic values. Willingness to travel occasionally for donor meetings and events as needed. This is a fully remote position, supporting our client's vital work from Austin, Texas, US , or anywhere in the US.
