NERA Associate - Human Capital Operations (White Plains, NY/NYC)

Mercer Company, through its NERA division, has been providing expert guidance on market and regulatory questions since 1961. They are seeking an Associate to join their Human Capital Operations team, responsible for managing employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes
  • Manage the end-to-end background investigation process for new hires
  • Assist in new employee orientations
  • Maintain I-9 and E-Verify system data
  • Process weekly payroll for non-exempt employees and respond to payroll-related inquiries
  • Maintain and audit employee data within HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefits inquiries
  • Successful candidates will have opportunities to take ownership of projects, contribute to process improvements, and develop expertise
  • Ad hoc projects, as needed

Skills

  • BA/BS in related field or equivalent relevant work experience gained through prior human resources, operations, or administrative roles in similarly fast-paced environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Experience managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, Workday experience a plus
  • Willing to travel as necessary between New York City and White Plains for collaboration
