With a commitment to safety, innovation, and exceptional customer experiences, arenaflex is on a mission to become the most trusted airline in the world. Our culture blends cutting‑edge technology with a people‑first philosophy, ensuring that every employee—whether on the tarmac or working from home—contributes to a safer, more connected sky.

Why This Role Matters

As a Senior Customer Care Specialist you will join arenaflex’s Network Security and Advanced Risk (CDR) team, a critical unit tasked with safeguarding the digital assets that keep our aircraft, crew, and passengers safe. This is more than a customer service position; it is a strategic role that blends cybersecurity expertise with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. If you thrive at the intersection of security, leadership, and customer advocacy, this remote opportunity is your gateway to shaping the future of aviation security.

Role Overview

Working remotely from anywhere in the United States, you will lead a team of highly skilled security engineers, develop end‑to‑end security architectures for arenaflex’s products and services, and embed security into the DNA of every digital touchpoint. You will act as a bridge between technical teams, senior leadership, and external auditors, ensuring that security initiatives align with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive security vision for arenaflex’s product portfolio, aligning security roadmaps with business objectives.
  • Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of security engineers, overseeing performance reviews, career development, and resource allocation.
  • Policy & Compliance: Monitor evolving regulations and industry standards; proactively update internal policies, procedures, and controls to maintain compliance.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Deliver regular briefings, training sessions, and executive updates on security posture, risk trends, and mitigation strategies.
  • Risk Assessment & Remediation: Lead vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses; prioritize remediation efforts and track resolution progress.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, DevOps, and legal teams to embed security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Audit Coordination: Liaise with internal and external audit bodies, preparing documentation, evidence, and action plans for security audits.
  • Incident Response: Serve as an on‑call escalation point for security incidents, coordinating rapid response and post‑incident reviews.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of tools, training, and technology investments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation by evaluating emerging security technologies and recommending enhancements to existing frameworks.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Hands‑on experience with risk modeling, threat assessment, and risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams to deliver security improvements on time and within budget.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and influence decision‑making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of delivering compelling presentations to senior leadership.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Deep expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), micro‑services architectures, and container security.
  • Experience with secure software development (DevSecOps), automated security testing, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Background in regulatory compliance for the aviation sector (e.g., FAA, EASA) or other highly regulated industries.
  • Hands‑on experience conducting manual code reviews, dynamic/static analysis, and penetration testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior security professionals.

  • Problem Solving: Strong logical reasoning and decision‑making skills, especially under pressure.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at building partnerships across engineering, product, legal, and operations.
  • Communication: Ability to craft concise reports, executive summaries, and training materials.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable thriving in fast‑paced, agile environments with evolving priorities.
