No other organization in the world is built to do this. The Role The College Persistence Advisor (Part-Time) is an instrumental member of the Academy team. The College Persistence Advisor supports undergraduate members as they navigate college and progress toward timely degree completion. This role is responsible for ensuring that members remain enrolled, academically on track, financially prepared, and connected to the resources necessary to persist through graduation and achieve strong first-career outcomes. The College Persistence Advisor is responsible for executing the Academy's college persistence advising model and working closely with undergraduate members to develop academic, financial, personal, and career-readiness plans aligned to degree completion. The advisor monitors member progress, reviews academic performance and enrollment status, supports course planning and campus engagement, helps members address barriers to persistence, and connects them to institutional and Academy resources. The advisor serves as a trusted coach, advocate, and navigator, providing individualized advising, coordinating supports, and maintaining regular communication to promote long-term college success. The advisor's approach to working should reflect the core values and habits of the Academy staff: tireless focus on excellence, determination despite obstacles, impeccable integrity, willingness to work hard, ability to learn from multiple sources, relentless focus on results, constant reflection and self-awareness, zest, social intelligence, and pertinacity. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics Primary Responsibilities Manage a caseload of undergraduate members and provide individualized advising to support college persistence and degree completion. Build strong, consistent relationships with assigned members through regular one-to-one advising meetings and follow-up communication. Monitor academic progress, enrollment status, credit accumulation, GPA, financial aid status, and other indicators related to college persistence. Assist members with developing academic, personal, financial, and career-readiness goals aligned to timely college graduation. Support members with course planning, major exploration, campus resource navigation, and academic intervention planning. Identify barriers to persistence and coordinate appropriate supports, including tutoring, financial resources, wellness services, and campus-based assistance. Maintain accurate advising records, document member progress, and track persistence-related milestones. Facilitate one-to-one and small-group advising sessions focused on academic success, college navigation, financial literacy, and career preparation. Collaborate with Academy staff, families, and campus partners, where appropriate, to support member persistence and graduation outcomes. Support members in preparing for internships, career pathways, graduate school exploration, and first-career transitions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in higher education, professional school counseling, or related field (postsecondary or college coach); Minimum of three years of successful college advising experience (including student-facing nonprofits or higher education; Background in academic, high school, or college advising; Experience with designing and facilitating advisory lessons; and Location This position is virtual.

Compensation
