[Remote] Backend Software Engineer(Kotlin/Java)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking a Backend Software Engineer specializing in Kotlin and Java for a 12+ month contract role. The engineer will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining backend services that enhance the support experience for hosts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement clear, scalable APIs and backend services that power core claim workflows
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Data Science, and Engineering teams to define requirements, reputed company technical designs, and deliver high-quality features from concept to production
- Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through thoughtful code reviews and shared best practices
- reputed company and monitor services to ensure reliability, performance, and observability in production
Skills
- 5+ years of Java backend software development experience
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Kotlin, Java, or Python
- Strong understanding of microservices and Kubernetes with experience working on APIs and end-to-end development from developing to testing
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing high-throughput APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems
- Comfort working across the backend stack to diagnose and solve reputed company technical challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at collaborating in design discussions, working sessions, and code reviews
