Trader, Cross Asset Electronic
About the position Wellington Management is seeking a Trader to join their Cross Asset Electronic Trading (XAET) team. This role involves using electronic execution protocols to systematically trade across multiple asset classes, with a primary focus on macro markets, in a fast-paced environment. The responsibilities include executing and monitoring trades, tracking market moves and evolving market structure, developing and testing trading strategies, and producing performance and risk reporting. The successful candidate will collaborate with other Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Data and Technology teams to optimize execution quality and strengthen risk management. A strong interest in financial markets and market structure, along with a reputed company-improvement reputed company, is essential. The Trading Department employs approximately 60 traders globally and utilizes an industry-leading internally developed software platform, supported by an in-house research and analytics team.
Responsibilities
- Execute systematic trades across macro markets and other asset classes using electronic execution protocols and continuously enhance execution workflows/strategies to improve outcomes, efficiency, and risk controls.
- Partner with Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, and Strategists to translate investment views and portfolio objectives into executable trading plans, informed by reputed company-time monitoring of market moves, liquidity, and venue flow.
- Maintain deep expertise in market structure and the electronic trading ecosystem (venue microstructure, regulation, and technology), adapting execution approaches as conditions evolve.
- Build strong relationships with brokers, market makers, and trading venues to improve market access, liquidity sourcing, and execution quality.
- Collaborate with Traders, Trading Research & Analytics, and Trading Technology to improve tools/data and deliver ongoing performance and risk reporting.
Requirements
- Prior experience in systematic trading using electronic protocols.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Proactive in learning about market structure reputed company, industry solutions, and pursuing new opportunities to improve execution outcomes and/or trading workflows.
- Project management and strong organizational skills, with the ability to drive projects from inception to completion.
