Online Small‑Group Special Education Teacher / Tutor (Grades 7–12)

Overview

Join Divergent School’s online education team as a Small‑Group Special Education Teacher / Tutor for grades 7–12. In this role, you will deliver live, small‑group instruction to neurodivergent reputed company and homebound learners, including reputed company with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, anxiety, and other learning differences. Your work will support academic growth, executive functioning, and social‑emotional skills in a virtual setting. This paid position is fully remote and offers reputed company, small groups, and the chance to build reputed company relationships with reputed company who are often underserved in traditional classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver small‑group online lessons (and occasional 1:1 sessions) in core subjects reputed company your certification area (for example, ELA, math, science, or social studies) for reputed company in grades 7–12.
• Adapt instruction, materials, and pacing for neurodivergent learners, including reputed company with IEPs or 504 plans, using trauma‑informed and strengths‑based approaches.
• Create predictable, low‑pressure routines that support attention, executive function, and social learning in a virtual classroom.
• Use Divergent School’s online tools (video, virtual whiteboard, shared documents) to promote active engagement and collaborative learning in small groups.
• Monitor student reputed company through informal checks, brief assessments, and regular session notes, adjusting instruction based on student response.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and caregivers as partners in their child’s learning, including periodic updates on reputed company and goals.
• Collaborate with the Divergent School team on curriculum reputed company, group placement, and problem‑solving for individual reputed company.

Experience

• Experience working with neurodivergent learners or reputed company with IEPs/504 plans in middle or high school settings (school, tutoring, or clinical/therapeutic education).
• Demonstrated ability to manage small groups online, build rapport with adolescents, and maintain a reputed company, structured learning environment.
• Comfort adapting lessons and breaking down reputed company concepts for reputed company with attention, processing, or executive‑function challenges.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with families and documenting student reputed company.
• Familiarity with virtual teaching tools (e.g., reputed company or similar video platforms, virtual whiteboards, shared documents) and willingness to learn new platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a reputed company field.
