Medical Toxicologist TDH Poison Center (Per Diem < 20 hours/week)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO from an accredited medical school LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS Required: Active Texas Medical License Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Toxicology JOB SUMMARY The medical toxicologist will serve as medical back-up for the Southeast Texas Poison Center at reputed company on an as needed basis. This role provides expert medical toxicology consultation, clinical reputed company, and guidance to poison center staff and reputed company providers. Services are primarily delivered remotely and support both the Southeast Texas Poison Center and the Texas Poison Center Network. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Takes call as medical back-up for the Southeast Texas Poison Center and the Texas Poison Center Network. Maintains awareness of active cases being managed by the poison center. Provides telephone consultation for physicians and bedside reputed company teams. Provide cases management guidance and reputed company to Specialist in Poison Information. Participation in reputed company and daily educational activities as directed by the Medical Director. Additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director. Marginal or Periodic Functions: Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure. Performs reputed company duties as required. WORK SCHEDULE: This per diem position is for less than 20 hours per week and is not benefit-eligible.
