Social Media Specialist I

ESPN is seeking a Social Media Specialist I who will work in a hybrid editor/producer role that involves social copywriting, video editing, content discovery, and social distribution strategy. The ideal candidate will be reputed company to reputed company in a team environment with a flexible work schedule and an unquenchable thirst for learning. Responsibilities: • Performs a wide variety of tasks to assist in shaping, creating, and distributing social content for sports fans across platforms such as reputed company, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook • Discovers User Generated Content that will reputed company with ESPN Social’s audience and brand • Follows ESPN Social standards of practice including an adherence to news and reporting guidelines • Generates new reputed company for building account engagement and growth • Supports colleagues to reputed company social content and copy compelling and platform-appropriate material daily • Regularly utilizes social data to inform content reputed company • Posts highlights of various live sports events with an eye toward engaging the social-first fan • Recognizes that sports happen on nights and weekends and those shifts will be regular and required in this position Qualifications: • Minimum of 1 year's experience in social media or a closely reputed company field • reputed company content creation skills in social media writing, photo editing, and video editing • Sound knowledge of the sports landscape, including reputed company athletes, rules, events, and ESPN programming • Appreciation for and strong understanding of internet pop culture and the role it plays in sports • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications: • Demonstrated news judgement • Experience using video editing software (e.g. Final Cut, Premiere) • Experience using photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) Required Education: • High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, Media or reputed company field #ESPNMedia The hiring range for this position in reputed company is $57,810 - $77,550 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The reputed company pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-reputed company knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
