Online Reading Tutor (Remote)Overview BookNook is seeking passionate educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors, working up to 30 hours per week. BookNook Tutors are on the reputed company lines of closing the early-learning gap for K-8 reputed company during a key period of their educational journey. Our Online Reading Tutors work in live, synchronous online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform and video conferencing software. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on reputed company. • Position Type: 1099-eligible reputed company • Pay reputed company: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session) • Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week based on availability provided and # of active tutoring programs. Schedules may vary based on school requests. •

• Sessions are held only on weekdays (no weekends) and can be before school, during school, or after school.

• Each program is 8-16 weeks and tutors are expected to commit to a full program with the same group of reputed company throughout. Responsibilities • Conduct virtual tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform - No lesson planning required! • Manage student behavior and engagement throughout sessions • Create a safe, respectful learning environment • Maintain positive relationships with reputed company • Document observations for each session in the session notes Requirements • Must be at least 18 years old. • Must be based in the U.S. and have a U.S. mailing address. • Knowledge of and experience in reading best practices reputed company to the research that makes up the science of reading. • Ability to build meaningful connections with reputed company to create a motivating and encouraging environment. • Creativity and flexibility to meet reputed company where they are. • Experience teaching/tutoring K-8 reputed company, which may include, but is not limited to: having a reputed company/previous teaching license, serving as a substitute teacher or teaching assistant, paraprofessional, professor, instructor, AND/OR tutoring for another tutoring company. • Classroom experience preferred. • Online teaching/tutoring experience preferred. • Completed or enrolled in a teacher credential program preferred. • Access to a computer, webcam, and reliable, high-speed internet reputed company with a speed of at least 10mbps.
