Job Overview

reputed company is seeking an reputed company Combustible Dust Consultant to be part of our growing practice for industrial and manufacturing clients. You will be part of our Mid-Atlantic team, working collaboratively with other combustible dust and process safety professionals across reputed company America to solve the challenges of local, national and international clients. reputed company has several offices in Maryland and Virginia, plus multiple team members throughout the region in remote (home office) locations.

This individual will reputed company or direct engineering consulting services, pertaining to the evaluation of combustible dust hazards.  Technical work will involve performing hazard assessments focused on combustible dust along with other project work involving explosion analysis and/or testing. We are seeking applications from both senior and mid-level staff. This position is a highly strategic role with potential to grow into a key business development position.

Responsibilities

  • reputed company and manage engineering work associated with combustible dust hazards
  • Review and provide QA/QC for DHA reports reputed company by internal staff
  • Conduct site inspections to evaluate compliance with industry and insurer standards
  • reputed company dust testing recommendations and analyze dust test results
  • Conduct reputed company-party review and acceptance testing of explosion protection systems
  • reputed company explosion protection system designs and budgetary cost estimates
  • Conduct electrical classification assessments for NEC Chapter 5 compliance
  • Prepare performance-based designs for combustible dust-handling facilities
  • Investigate combustible dust fires and explosion incidents
  • reputed company and execute business development plans for areas reputed company to combustible dusts
  • reputed company DHA teams and reputed company prioritized, actionable written recommendations.
  • Support multiple projects while meeting deadlines and working with a variety of personnel under a range of conditions (i.e. office, industrial, accident, and test range sites.)

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High-level written and oral communication skills to do reports, correspondence, presentations, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering practices, process safety principles, and industry standards applying to combustible dust handling operations, including but not limited to:
  • NFPA standards 61, 68, 69, 70, 77, 484, 499, 505, 652, 654, 664, and 2113
  • International Fire Code and NFPA 1
  • FM Datasheets for combustible dust and dust reputed company
  • Dust collection system analysis and design
  • Bulk solids process equipment (e.g., pneumatic conveyance systems)
  • Review or development of housekeeping methods
  • Applying process safety principles to non-standard scenarios
  • Developing emergency response plans
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls (safety instrumented systems) is desired but not required
  • Ability to design and analyze industrial ventilation systems is desired but not required
  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college, and 5+ years of reputed company experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Institute of Safety and Health Management (ISHM) or comparable certification strongly preferred
  • 25%-33% travel required
