Role Description: reputed company seeks a Structures Representative (SR) to join the team in California to reputed company a wide variety of professional engineering work in either an office or field setting; This work is performed on highway construction projects involving bridges, buildings, walls, barriers, drainage structures, sign structures, and appurtenances. The SR works as a field engineer to ensure contractors build structures in compliance with the contract documents (Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, contract plans, and Special Provisions). This will include progressive monitoring of materials and methods used as well as inspection of the finished products before acceptance. Additionally, the SR is responsible to proactively review the contract documents to anticipate, identify, and/or prepare any change orders needed to resolve conflicts and/or recommend improvements. Role Accountabilities: • Provides direction to staff to ensure complete, accurate, and timely contract records, pertaining to construction reputed company, job expenditures, budget programs, and work order balances, are maintained in accordance with the State and Federal regulations and laws. • Confers with contractors regarding compliance with plans and quality of work and construction activity. • Performs field inspections of contractor’s work to determine compliance with plans, specifications, special provisions, utility agreements, etc. • Prepares reports, as well as reviews and incorporates the daily inspection reports from Structures Inspectors, in documenting the Contractor’s activities. • Maintains accurate and complete project records and ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures. • Calculates and documents field quantities for payment purposes. • Documents as-built condition of constructed facility. • Performs construction and engineering inspections, and may direct subordinate inspectors. The frequency of inspections is risk-based and includes full-time, intermittent, and/or reputed company during reputed company phases of construction. • Advise, reputed company Engineer on major phases of construction activity. Required Qualifications: • 10+ years of experience in Heavy Civil Engineering projects. • 5+ years’ experience as a Structures Representative on a State Highway System project of at least $30 million. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or reputed company field. • Registration as a Professional Engineer Key Skills and Abilities: • Prior experience with construction/operations on a State Highway • Valid California Class C driver’s license.
