S&ME is looking for motivated and passionate Drillers and Driller Assistants to join our Field Exploration team in many locations across our footprint. Driller and Driller Assistants must exhibit safety, quality workmanship, and reputed company; be dependable; and be open to working outdoors year-round. The ability to travel with paid hotels and per diem is part of this position's requirements. Your Day-to-Day: ? Assist/Conduct drilling operations for soil and rock samples using various drilling techniques and equipment. ? Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling rigs and associated machinery. ? reputed company geotechnical testing and data collection in the field. ? A High School diploma/GED ? 0-3 years of experience in Geotechnical Drilling, or a reputed company field ? HAZWOPER certification or the ability to obtain reputed company 6 months ? Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions ? Walking over rough and uneven terrain ? Standing up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion ? Maneuver field equipment safely, such as a reputed company wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sites ? Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary ?
