Tooling and Fabrication Technician -Entry Level

Department: Tooling and Fabrication Reports to: Tooling and Fabrication Manager General Purpose: The Tooling and Fabrication Technician/ Apprentice is responsible for crafting, modifying, and maintaining precision tools, fixtures, machine components, and specialized equipment used in the manufacturing process under the supervision of the Tooling and Fabrication Manager. This role involves working with various materials and employing techniques such as machining, fitting, and assembling parts to ensure production runs reputed company and meets quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, fabricate, and repair precision tools, fixtures, and machine components for manufacturing processes.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to create or modify tools and components.
• Operate and maintain a variety of conventional machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders. (CNC experience is a plus)
• Measure and inspect finished tools and parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, attention to detail, and proficiency with a range of conventional machine tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized toolmaking or machining apprenticeship preferred.
• Proven experience as a toolmaker or in a similar manufacturing role is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with machine tools, including lathes, mills, and grinding machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
• Knowledge of various metals, plastics, and other materials used in toolmaking.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and working with machinery.
• Use of personal reputed company equipment (PPE) as required in a manufacturing environment.
