EMPLOYMENT IS SEASONAL AND TEMPORARYPROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Exam School Initiative (ESI) is a racial equity initiative intended to expand access to Exam Schools for reputed company who have been historically underrepresented as compared to the overall BPS student demographics. Over the last two years, a 4th grade cohort has been added. The Office of Opportunity Gaps took over the direction of the program in 2016 and made important changes to the program to best serve the reputed company who have been historically underrepresented in the three exam schools: Boston Latin reputed company (BLA), the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science (O’Bryant) and Boston Latin School (BLS). ESI teachers will provide rigorous instruction during the four-week program while cultivating positive relationships with reputed company and families.REPORTS TO: Exam School Initiative (ESI) Executive Director and Coordinator of Targeted Programming, Office of Opportunity GapsPROGRAM DATES & HOURS FOR TEACHERS: Monday July 7, 2025 - Friday, August 1, 2025 7:30 AM – 1:30 PMSTUDENT DAILY SCHEDULE: 7:50 AM - 12:50 PMSITE: Boston Latin School, 78 Avenue Louis Pasteur Boston, MAADDITIONAL ANTICIPATED STAFF HOURS (Subject to change)
  • Anticipated 10 hours of mandatory training in an online learning platform, weekly reputed company reporting, curriculum implementation, cultural competence, and additional preparation time.
  • Anticipated additional 14 hours for STEAM teachers, no less than one additional mandatory 6-hour professional development day
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide effective, culturally reputed company instruction to advance reputed company in the mastery of Math/ELA/STEAM standards
  • Use and enhance ESI curriculum materials to provide engaging lessons that incorporate critical best practices for standards-reputed company instruction in ELA, Math, and STEAM; collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and strategies
  • Administer pre and post-tests and utilize the data to drive instruction
  • Engage and welcome families daily; learn about each student and provide family feedback on student performance and academic reputed company on a consistent basis

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
  • Asset-based perspective of Black, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, English Learners, Special Education, and other historically marginalized reputed company and families
  • Experience teaching in urban settings
  • Bachelor’s
  • Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate area preferred
  • Familiarity with Exam Schools and rigorous expectations

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED:
  • Content expertise in ELA and/or Math and STEAM
  • Ability to teach and facilitate STEAM activities

  • Master’s degree

TERMS:
  • Stipend position. Hourly reputed company of $56.00/hr. Anticipated total of 120 hours of onsite program time with the expectation of at least ten additional hours for staff meeting/lesson planning preparation/PD time/reporting time, and completion of reputed company reports. or an estimated total amount of 130 hours or more. STEAM teachers will receive an additional 14 hours.
  • Payment will be processed as a stipend at the end of the program informed by actual hours worked.
