Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - New Grads 2025 [Small Animal]

Overview:

The Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our Small Animal team. As an LVT, you will provide exceptional patient care, work alongside veterinarians and other animal care professionals, and have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and advance your career.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care to patients according to hospital protocols and clinician orders

  • Assist with phlebotomy, intravenous and urinary catheter placement, and medication administration
  • Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and follow-up surgical or diagnostic procedures
  • Use various monitoring equipment, including pulse oximetry, ECG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitors
  • Advise, guide, and support DVM students throughout your shift
  • Continuously develop basic and advanced clinical skills
  • *Qualifications:**

• Associate degree from an AVMA-accredited institution

  • Expected to obtain NYS licensure within 3 months; up to 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent combination
  • New graduates encouraged to apply
