We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant / Surgical Tech to join our dynamic team at Tallahassee Endoscopy Center. As a leading advanced technology Endoscopy Suite, our mission is to provide the highest quality of GI care to our community.
Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant / Surgical Tech, you will play a vital role in our endoscopy center, working closely with reputed company of physicians, RNs, and other medical professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures, assisting with endoscopy procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wash and decontaminate endoscopes and accessories, verifying equipment functionality daily.
- Maintain processors and autoclaves, performing daily checks and controls, and documenting results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and peers to explain procedures and provide support.
- Assist with endoscopy procedures, including patient positioning and biopsy/polypectomy.
- Handle specimens obtained during procedures, ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and preparation for shipment.
- Ensure reputed company and supply availability, and maintain a clean and organized facility.
- Work collaboratively reputed company a team environment, recognizing and utilizing safety precautions and procedures.
- Assist with patient transport and discharge, and reputed company other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant or surgical experience preferred; GI Tech experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with medical professionals.
- reputed company certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).
- EMR systems experience (1 year) and vital signs experience (1 year) preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
