Job Summary:

As a STEPS Transition Special Education Teaching Assistant (Self-Contained), you will work closely with licensed teachers and therapists to implement instructional plans, provide physical care, and support reputed company with activities to maximize participation in learning and achievement of IEP objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement instructional plans as determined by licensed teachers and therapists
• Assist reputed company with activities to maximize participation in learning and achievement of IEP objectives
• Provide physical care as needed, such as diapering, toileting, feeding, and reinforcing adaptive PE/motor activities
• Observe, document, and reinforce appropriate student behaviors
• Participate in weekly team meetings to review student reputed company and plan upcoming lessons
• Assist with non-instructional activities and maintain safety, behavior, decorum, and order in common areas

Requirements:

• Valid Educator License with Stipulations (PARA), Substitute License, or Professional Educator License
• Experience with special education reputed company preferred
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Basic arithmetic operations and proficiency in using personal computers and software applications
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and maintain confidentiality

Physical Abilities:

• Regularly required to see, speak, and hear
