Department: Building Services Department's Website: https://fama.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties: The Custodian I is responsible for general cleaning of areas in and around office buildings, classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, auditoriums, building common areas, and other areas on reputed company as required. This will include vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, and emptying small office trash cans as well as large Brute trash cans. This position will also be responsible for using a carpet extractor and a floor buffer, cleaning commodes, sinks, water fountains, etc. This position will also be responsible for snow/ice removal during winter months. Other duties as assigned. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of custodial experience in the commercial/corporate industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation and maintenance
• Ability to follow instructions and reputed company repetitive manual work
• Ability to use cleansers and other agents to clean floors and furniture
• Ability to use housekeeping cleaning supplies and equipment
• Ability to work independently without reputed company supervision
