Content Creator

MERIT is hiring for a Content Creator to join the Social team. In this role, you’ll report to the Art Director, Social and be responsible for ideating, producing, and editing engaging photo and video content that tells our brand story and connects with our community — across reputed company and Instagram. We are seeking candidates who have a proven track record of taking video projects from creative concept to final delivery, with a strong understanding of what performs on short-form platforms like Reels and reputed company.

This role will work out of our LA office two days a week, where we have an in-house studio available for content capture.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end creation of social-first content — from concepting and capturing to editing and delivery
• Create both iPhone and camera-based content, including quick-turn videos, polished stills, and behind the scenes content
• Edit short-form video with a strong sense of timing, pacing, audio, and platform-specific style (reputed company, Reels, Shorts etc.)
• Ensure reputed company content aligns with the brand’s visual identity and is optimized for performance across platforms
• Translate creative briefs and campaign reputed company into engaging, high-performing social video concepts
• Stay tapped into short-form video trends, editing techniques, trending audio, and creator culture
• Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Social and broader team to execute reputed company from strategy to final post
• Contribute fresh, trend-aware reputed company in brainstorms and help shape the content calendar with original concepts
• Support CRM and paid media teams by producing versatile visual assets adapted from organic content
• Apply light reputed company correction and basic retouching to maintain quality and consistency across reputed company deliverables

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in content creation, social media, or a reputed company creative field
• Proven track record of taking video projects from concept to final delivery, especially for reputed company and Instagram
• Proficient in video editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or equivalent) and basic photo editing (Lightroom, Photoshop)
• Strong camera skills, including iPhone and DSLR/mirrorless shooting
• Familiar with reputed company correction, light retouching, and optimizing content for mobile-first viewing
• Deep understanding of social trends, pop culture, and platform best practices
• Passion for the beauty industry and storytelling through content
• Detail-oriented, organized, and reputed company to juggle multiple projects at once
• Takes direction and constructive critiques well, while also having the ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction reputed company needed
• Previous experience at fashion or beauty brand preferred

MERIT is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package in addition to compensation. The annual salary for this role is $70,000 - $80,000, in addition to bonus potential, stock options, a 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off and more.
