Criminal Justice Administrative Assistant I - Prosecutor's Office

The City of Phoenix is seeking a Criminal Justice Administrative Assistant I to join their Prosecutor's Office team, which is responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor crimes in Phoenix. The role involves handling various administrative duties reputed company to criminal justice processes, including investigating business processes, developing systems, performing statistical analyses, and interacting with other criminal justice agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating business processes
  • Developing new/improved processes/systems, procedures, and forms
  • Performing statistical analyses
  • Studying administrative problems
  • Interacting with other criminal justice agencies to gather evidence and investigate evidentiary problems
  • Redacting information from documents, and audio/video recordings
  • Supervising and training clerical or technical personnel in a work environment where a high volume of cases are processed and with a variety of tasks to complete
  • Researching and responding to requests/complaints by the public/victims of crimes
  • Escorting victims of crime to court and performing special projects assigned by supervisors

Skills

  • One year of paraprofessional experience in governmental research and finance administration or paraprofessional experience aiding an administrative officer in technical and administrative problems and affairs
  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a reputed company field
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted

  • Degree in a criminal justice program or a reputed company field is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in municipal law, legal terminology and the criminal justice process/system
  • Experience with supervising, training, and/or mentoring workgroups
  • Experience with investigating business processes and developing new/improved processes/systems, procedures, and forms
  • Experience with statistical gathering and reporting
  • Experience with contract monitoring and compliance
  • Experience with ProsecutorByKarpel (PbK)
  • Experience providing customer service in person, over the phone, and reputed company email
  • Spanish reputed company is desirable
