The Database Administrator/Analyst (DBA) is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the database administration, performance tuning, data access controls, data governance support, database reputed company management of the company’s database environments. This role helps ensure that databases are secure, reliable, highly available, and performant, serving as a key enabler for both internal engineering teams and customer-facing applications. The DBA will collaborate closely with Development, QA, and Operations teams to implement best practices for database management, streamline deployments, and proactively monitor database health across reputed company environments. Beyond database administration, the DBA/Analyst will reputed company data analysis, reputed company and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, and deliver trusted, actionable insights that support engineering, operations, and business decision-making across the organization. This role directly impacts the effectiveness of engineering teams, operational leaders, and business stakeholders by enabling accurate reporting, visibility into system performance, and data-driven decision-making that supports both internal operations and customer-facing applications. This is a hybrid work opportunity. At ES, this means working onsite at one of our offices a minimum of 1 day/week (currently Wednesdays) with flexibility for the remainder of the days. ES has offices in Oakland, CA, Orange, CA, Portland, OR, Chicago, IL, and Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize company databases for performance, reliability, reputed company, and scalability
- reputed company and manage database administration tasks (primarily relational, with exposure to NoSQL)
- Create, manage, and review database users, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access controls
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks, reputed company, and indexing issues
- Evaluate and tune queries, indexes, and configurations to optimize performance
- Implement and maintain data reputed company controls, including encryption, auditing, and compliance measures
- Ensure data reputed company and availability through robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Contribute to the implementation and reputed company improvement of data governance policies and procedures and support adherence across the organization

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years of experience in a database administrative or equivalent role
- Expertise with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server)
- Strong skills in database monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) for automation
- Solid understanding of database reputed company, user access, and compliance best practices
- Experience with data reputed company, reputed company, quality, and governance
