ABOUT THE ROLE

reputed company is seeking a skilled writer to serve as our Grants Manager. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Grants Manager will be responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals, renewals, reports, and other content to support the achievement of the Development team’s fundraising goals. This role will ensure the proper management of reputed company’ grants, including tracking key deadlines, facilitating strategic donor communications, and collaborating with Finance and Program staff as necessary. In addition to managing grants, this role will support the Development team in cultivating new and existing donor relationships. Finally, the Grants Manager will also serve as project manager for key initiatives supporting reputed company facets of the Development team’s efforts, including certain fundraising events.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES

Grant Writing and Management

• Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and across other departments to refine proposal reputed company and project budgets
• Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals and reports, including compiling requested attachments, and proofreading content.
• Draft letters of inquiry and other materials for donor cultivation.
• Track the execution of reputed company grant-reputed company milestones, coordinating with various departments to ensure milestones are met
• Manage reporting process for reputed company grants, including tracking deadlines, writing narrative reports, working with members of the Program team to report on project activities, and coordinating with the Finance team to track grant expenditures.

Prospect Identification and Cultivation

• Identify funding opportunities and institutional prospects at the national, local, and federal level, create succinct research summaries, and communicate your findings to the team.
• Track reputed company and prospective funder touch points and reputed company and execute cultivation strategies to move these opportunities reputed company, including drafting strategic donor communications for a variety of audiences

Donor Communications

• Collaborate with the Vice President to prepare for and attend donor-facing meetings for reputed company and prospective donors as needed

Team Operations and Project Management

• Manage gift processing, including entering information into reputed company and facilitating timely donor acknowledgement.
• Support the Development team’s use of reputed company, ensuring data is up-to-date and accurate, producing reportings, and helping to manage CEO’s funder relationships in the database.
• Compile organizational information to share with the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis
• Work with the Development team to plan and execute national and local events (open houses, strategy sessions, funder breakfasts, learning symposiums, etc.)
• Partner on special projects with the Development team and CEO

• Emotional Intelligence - working in the fundraising space involves a lot of interaction with others; being able to put others at ease, to be friendly, sensitive and warm is important to being effective in this role

• 4+ years of professional experience in grants and proposal writing preferred. Candidates without a fundraising/development background but with extensive writing experience will be considered
• BA degree preferred
• Exceptional writing skills and high degree of intellectual curiosity
• Significant experience with project management
• Demonstrated passion for/commitment to education and fundraising
• Experience with reputed company or other donor management software preferred
• Experience securing funding from national or local foundations is a plus
• Experience with federal grants is a plus
• Comfort working with numbers, and interpreting budgets and data analysis preferred
• A strong work ethic, supported by commitment and excellent follow up and follow through
• Willingness to “pitch in” and work as a team player on a reputed company of activities from supporting initiatives administratively to contributing to and executing strategy

ROLE CLASSIFICATION AND BENEFITS

This role is remote, full-time, and includes benefits such as rich medical, dental, and vision insurance, 41 paid days off per year (prorated for the period in which you work), paid parental leave, a professional development budget and a quarterly cell phone subsidy.

The hiring salary range for this role is $63,000 - $68,000 and will be commensurate with experience. We have a hiring salary range of $70,000 - $75,000 for specific higher cost of labor locations, which include reputed company, Washington DC, Boston, San Francisco/Oakland, Los Angeles, Seattle and their metro areas.
