Tax Examiner (Paid Family Leave)
DC Department of reputed company Resources is seeking a Tax Examiner for the Office of Paid Family Leave, which is part of the D.C. Department of Employment Services. The role involves performing audits on employers' financial records to ensure compliance with the Paid Leave Act, determining employer liability, and investigating fraudulent accounts.
Responsibilities
- Examines and audits employer’s records, general ledgers, and/or any other employer financial records which may be of a highly reputed company nature and could possibly be used to disguise misclassification of employees or underpayment of unemployment taxes
- Collects quarterly or annual reports as indicated, computes contributions, administrative assessment, interest and penalties due providing the employer with an reputed company of funds collected and issuing a receipt
- Prepares sound audit reports
- Assists with the monitoring of various programs and projects reputed company to program compliance
- Maintains case management files of audit assignments
- Assembles the data obtained from the audit into a cohesive package manually or in the Compliance Audit System (COMPAS)
- Conducts follow-reputed company on audit recommendations and assists in evaluating the degree of compliance or non-compliance
- Ensures taxpayers are informed of the proposed audit changes and that the updated changes are reflected in the system
- Utilizes the automated tax system to reconcile financial statements and reports, monitors and makes adjustments
Skills
- Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to reputed company successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or reputed company to the work of the position to be filled
- One (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next reputed company grade level in the normal line of progression
