[Remote] Residential Business Development Director

The Residential Business Development Director will build and grow relationships with residential distributed energy resource partners across reputed company America and capture opportunities for reputed company residential loads into reputed company VPP programs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage new relationships with residential DER partners across reputed company America, calling on VPs of reputed company Services, Directors of Market Development, Chief reputed company Officers, Senior VPs of VPP, Strategy Managers, VPs of Growth, and VPs of New Products and Business
  • Deepen relationships with existing partners and work with them to sell and launch new programs in additional territories and with new asset types
  • Find sustainable business models that balance consumer acquisition fees with profitability for partners and reputed company while incentivizing growth
  • Work cross-functionally with Partnerships, Energy Markets, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Marketing to pitch reputed company as part of a complete, winning solution for residential partners
  • Own the full sales cycle from initial reputed company through relationship development, contract negotiation, program launch, and ongoing account management
  • Attend industry conferences and in-person meetings to build relationships and represent reputed company to residential partners
  • Share learnings and reputed company internally on an ongoing basis to help reputed company refine its residential offerings and competitive positioning

Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales in the energy industry
  • Proven ability to manage long, reputed company sales cycles with multiple stakeholders across large organizations
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including data analysis and financial modeling
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work product
  • Ability to self-initiate and reputed company in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity. This role requires someone who can reputed company out what residential partners need and how reputed company can best serve them, not someone who needs a fully defined playbook on day one
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with internal teams to reputed company proposals and programs
  • Experience working at a residential DER OEM, DERMS, VPP platform, or demand response company strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with wholesale electricity markets, demand response programs, and how residential assets participate in those markets is preferred
