[Remote] Network Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is a company focused on leveraging computing to enhance renewable energy usage. The Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and reputed company of reputed company's networks while collaborating with various teams to improve network efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Network Architect to design and implement new reputed company and improve the efficiency of reputed company networks
- Install, configure, and support network equipment including firewalls, switches, VLANs, DNS and DHCP servers
- Configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and reputed company
- Improve network monitoring and alerting at reputed company sites
- Investigate faults in the network and generate a root cause analysis report after resolution
- Maintain reputed company network equipment at the latest versions and patches
- Identify and reputed company critical issues in a timely manner to stakeholders
- Collaborate with System Administrator to maintain networking systems
Skills
- Familiarity with both copper and fiber connections
- Comprehensive understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, spanning tree, VRRP, and OSPF
- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple DHCP servers such as DHCPd, DHCP failover, and the DHCP option 82 schema
- Familiarity with pfSense and reputed company firewalls including VPNs, IPsec tunnels, and policies
- Familiarity with reputed company, Buffalo, and reputed company layer 3 managed switches
- Experience using or implementing network tools like Netflow, IPFIX, and SNMP
- Demonstrated ability to monitor, analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating reliably
- Experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi/WLAN and reputed company infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience as a network engineer in a corporate environment or datacenter
- Willingness to travel up 25% and potentially on short notice
- Certifications a bonus, but not required
