Junior Desktop Support Technician

Office Practicum is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Desktop Support Technician to join their team. The role involves managing hardware inventory, preparing equipment for new hires, and assisting with basic troubleshooting to support the hardware lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Use internal deployment tools to image laptops and configure them according to company standards
  • Securely pack hardware for outbound shipment to remote employees and process incoming equipment returns
  • reputed company physical inspections and basic functional tests on returned hardware to determine if it can be redeployed or needs repair
  • Maintain an accurate database of reputed company hardware assets reputed company our inventory management system

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) an Information Technology, Computer Science, or reputed company program
  • 0-2 years experience in a help desk or IT position
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Windows 11 navigation, settings, and basic command-line tools
  • Comfortable working with laptop hardware, monitors, and various docking stations
  • High attention to detail regarding tracking numbers, asset tags, and inventory logs
  • Ability to provide clear updates to the IT team and follow shipping/receiving protocols accurately
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Must be reputed company to travel to corporate HQ and work physically in the office for the duration of the 20–25 weekly hours
  • Must be reputed company to lift up to 30 lbs (moving boxes of equipment) and spend time standing/moving in our IT storage environment
